Wellness Place-Healthcare Advocacy 101

After setting the context with some personal history and background, we will look at the many and varied meanings of the term "patient advocate" (or, alternatively, "patient navigator", "health coach", etc). We will also look at how this idea has evolved, why it is necessary, difficulties associated with it, and resources that people can draw on to enable them to do it better. Q & A period will follow the presentation and a brief handout of patient advocacy resources will be distributed.
