DESCRIPTION:Meditation and Chanting\nReduce stress in your body and mind.\n\nRestore harmony to your life.\n\n\n\nMeditation and chanting can help in all of these aspects of your life:\n\n- Emotions - calms and uplifts\n\n- Mind -  increases the brain's ability to process information\n\n- Body - can soften pain perception\n\n\n\nAre you new to meditation and want some support? Or are you an accomplished meditator who loves the energy found in group meditation? Have you meditated but are new to chanting mantra? Do you love chanting mantra as much as I do?\n\nWherever you are on the journey\, come join us on the 4th Saturday of every month for Meditation and Chanting.\n \n\nIn the Meditation portion\, we will enjoy:\n\n\n	\n	\n		\n		Aromatherapy for calming and gathering \n		\n		\n		An easy tension releasing exercise\n		\n		\n		A brief discussion of meditation\n		\n		\n		A short guided meditation\n		\n		\n		A longer silent meditation\n		\n	\n\n	If you've ever wanted to try meditation\, now's the time. If you are an experienced meditator\, you know how powerful meditating in a group can be. Plus\, it's fun!\n	\n\n\nChanting\n\n\n\nNever chanted before? Come and give it a try! We will be chanting to a cd. We will do both 'sing along' and 'call and response' chanting. You will have handouts with the words and explanations for all chants.\n\n \n\n'Call and response' chanting means that first the "caller" sings the verse and then the audience repeats it. It's easy! If you're a visual person\, we'll have handouts with the words and the definitions on them.\n\n \n\nThe gateways to the soul are opened with prayer\, voice\, sound\, and repetition. The repetition of a vocal sound modifies and is remarkably healing to the breath\, the body and the mind. Brainwaves begin to balance after only three or four minutes\, and the muscle and skin temperature increases.  Chanting is a simple way to reduce stress and anxiety.\n\n \n\nYou'll receive explanations\, pronunciations and handouts of the mantras that we'll be chanting. \n\nBring a yoga mat and/or meditation cushion\, if you have them.\n\n\n\nI have chairs\, mats\, and pillows for those who need something after they arrive.\n \n\nBeginners welcome - no experience necessary!\n\nTestimonials\n\nMeditation testimonials\n\nLiked the breathing (alternate) nostril prior (to meditation).
